In 2014 and 2015, four lunar eclipses, called “blood moons,” will occur during two significant Jewish festivals: Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles. They will occur on April 15, 2014, October 8, 2014, May 4, 2015, and September 28, 2015 Many prophecy watchers are heralding this celestial phenomenon, known as a Tetrad, as a major sign of the times. Proponents of the blood moon prophecy base their view on Scripture passages that mention the moon turning to blood, events in Israel associated with past appearances of the Tetrad, and their belief that God uses the heavens as his “high definition” billboards to announce coming events. In “Blood Moons Rising,” I explore Bible prophecy, the phenomenon of the four blood moons, and the feasts of Israel. The book is whirlwind tour of the end of days and how newspaper headlines are clear signs of the coming of the end. But the main focus of the book is to separate the fact from the fiction concerning the blood moon prophecy. Much is being said about the blood moons and the attention to them will only build as the Tetrad runs its course. You need to read this book to understand what’s being said about the blood moons and what the Bible says and doesn’t say.
The nuclear standoff between Iran and Israel continues to build. The two nations have engaged in a shadow war since 1979, but it threatens to break into open war that could escalate into a regional or even global conflagration. To complicate matters even further, Iran’s mullah regime holds to an apocalyptic, genocidal ideology that justifies the annihilation of Israel and believes it can hasten the coming of its Messiah (the Mahdi) by destroying Israel and the U.S.
Questions abound. How close is Iran to getting the bomb? Will Israel carry out a preemptive strike against Iran? What will happen? What will Hezbollah and Hamas do? Will the U.S. be dragged into the conflict? What could happen to world oil supply and delivery? Will there ever be peace in the Middle East? What does the future hold?
Iran and Israel is an up-to-date look at these questions and many more that will help you make sense of what’s going on in our world today and where it’s all ultimately headed.
I’m very excited to announce the publication of my newest book, The End: A Comprehensive Overview of Bible Prophecy and the End of Days (Tyndale, 2012). Here’s the preface to the book. It expresses my purpose in writing it.
“In 1958, Dr. J. Dwight Pentecost published his doctrinal dissertation from Dallas Theological Seminary in a monumental book titled Things to Come. This book is an exhaustive study of Bible prophecy and has served as the standard for end time prophecy for fifty years. I had the great privilege to study under Dr. Pentecost and hold him in the highest respect. My goal is for The End, in some small way, to provide for my generation and the ones following what Dr. Pentecost did for his. While no book can or should replace his work, I would like for this book to serve as a comprehensive resource for a new generation interested in biblical eschatology. There has never been a time when it is more important for God’s people to understand the prophetic word and look for His appearing. People everywhere today have sobering questions, searching questions, about what the future holds. God’s Word is the only place we can find sure answers. Yet, at the very time when serious study and preaching and teaching about prophecy is most needed, its importance has diminished in many churches and in the lives of many Christians. I pray that this work can play some small role in sparking a renewed interest and passion for the blessed hope.”
To accomplish this purpose The End explains the foundational issues of biblical prophecy (such as the interpretation of prophecy, the biblical covenants, and key prophetic passages), main events, important players, and chronology of end time events. After the foundation is laid, the end times are unfolded chronologically. The various views of the rapture and millennium are discussed, and the pre-millennial, pre-tribulational views are presented and defended. Whether you agree with every view and interpretation I adopt or not, I hope you’ll find it to be a helpful resource. I had a great time writing it, and I pray that it can be used to bless others and glorify our sovereign God who holds the future in His Hand.
I’ve had the privilege of writing over twenty non-fiction books on end time biblical prophecy. Over the years, many people have asked me when I was going to make a foray into fiction. My standard response has been that I am waiting for the right idea. And as you can see, I believe the Lord has given me the right idea and the right person to work with me. After writing 2012, the Bible and the End of the World, it seemed natural to write a novel on this fascinating topic that’s gaining so much attention and will continue to escalate as 12/21/12 approaches. It’s my prayer that the Lord can use this book to bring the truth of the end times and the end of the world to even more people.
I’m so grateful for Alton Gansky. He’s a veteran author with many fiction titles under his belt. He did a wonderful job bringing the story to life. If you love end time prophecy and good fiction, you will enjoy this book. I recommend reading 2012, the Bible and the End of the World along with The Mayan Apoclaypse. It will give you some more indepth background information about the 2012 phenomenon.
This is my first novel but hopefully won’t be the last. I had a great time working with Alton on this project.
